We were met by our wonderful host Valerie who showed us all around this wonderfully restored property. The décor and cleanliness were of the highest standard. It was like home away from home, it had all kitchen utensils and appliances, 3 large king size beds which contributed to a wonderful nights sleep. A basket of food, tea coffee milk bread butter and more. Restaurants and bars close by, restaurant food was excellent. A great location from which to explore with Mont Saint Michel and Normandy beaches. Domfront itself is full of history, with beautiful cobbled streets and churches and great views over the city. We would certainly visit Gite Saint Julien again and thank you to Valerie and this gem of a property. A definite 10 out of 10 for us

Warmly welcomed by Sam&Glenn who had a basket with food and wine waiting for us. The gîte is centrally located within the old town square in view of the castle - ideal for people-watching from the comfort of home, and for feeling like a part of the local community with varied shops around, including the busy tabac, or enjoying the occasional concert or the medieval festival actually on the doorstep! There are several cafés and restaurants a stone’s throw from the gîte with the most delicious and amazing menus at a cost from which I have yet to work out how they make any profit!
Domfront itself is similarly ideally situated for exploring the many pretty villages and towns within reach, perfect for Bayeaux and Mont St Michel. You can wander the streets of Domfront wondering at the history of this interesting town with always another lane or set of steps to discover .
The gîte, formerly a café, has been totally renovated to a very high standard, combining the old world charm of the building and wide stone fireplace with all the expectations of modern day living in a subtle and most comfortable manner - high quality bed linen and furnishings, sparkling clean, all mod cons.
Our stay in Gîte St Julien Domfront went beyond our expectations, the locals were friendly and Sam&Glenn were so helpful, it all created a sense of a genuine experience of French living. Would definitely recommend and am checking dates to return already!
A lovely week spent here in Domfront, we visited so many places - Mont St Michel, Bagnole de l'Orne, La Fete Mac'e and the castle at Lassay les Chateau and of course Domfront itself had so much to offer. We recommend the local restaurants just a few minutes from the Gite

Gîte St. Julien is a beautifully renovated house in the old town of Domfront. Perfectly located, tastefully decorated and very well equipped it offers everything one can wish for. The beds were great, the bathrooms very clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay a lit. We appreciated the welcome gift very much. Merci, Glenn! We will be back!

We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our week at Gite St Julien. we had some wonderful days out Mont St Michel, D-Day beaches and was even able to visit Paris for a day which is so accessible from Flers.

What a beautiful gite! Everything was new, clean, tastefully decorated, and of the highest quality. Glenn and Sam met us with a warm welcome and basket of goodies so that we would have everything we needed for our first night.
We chose to stay in Domfront because of its central location for visiting other places in Normandy, such as Bayeux , the D-day beaches, and Mont Saint Michel. What we didn’t expect was to fall in love with Domfront, itself. It was probably the highlight of our trip (which included visits to London and Paris). We are already planning a return trip at some point in the future.
Beautiful town, beautiful property, beautiful hosts.

Had a great stay at this gite. Has been totally renovated and furnished very sympathetically. Beds were sooo comfortable.
Its location is great just a few minutes walk to the tourist office and chateau. Lots of places nearby to eat or just have a drink.

Stayed at Gite St Julien with friends and what a wonderful property! Renovated to the highest standards.
The gite is situated in the lovely Place St Julien and so convenient for all the local restaurants and bars we were spoilt for choice. Every morning we just walked across the square to the bistro a one minute walk away and had breakfast.
The castle and its lovely gardens is just a few hundred metres away and the tourist information is nearby.
We stayed for a week and had a thoroughly wonderful time exploring the area.
